Paper Boat is closing!

Dearest patrons of Paper Boat,

As of May 31st Paper Boat Boutique & Gallery will be closing its doors after 4 great years of being open. The current economic climate is the main reason that led us to this very difficult decision.

We really hope you can join us for our last Gallery reception featuring work by Wisconsin artist Micaela O’Herlihy on Gallery Night, April 17th from 7-10pm.

There will also be a closing sale for the month of May to help us reduce our inventory. It will be a great time to pick up those items you’ve always been meaning to get. Also, don't forget to spend your gift certificates if you have been holding onto one!

We thank you so very much for your support over the past 4 years. Even though the Boat is closing, we are excited to seek out new opportunities and projects. We also want to stress the importance of supporting the remaining small businesses and galleries in Milwaukee. Those spaces are vital to keeping our city and our community unique and enjoyable.

We hope to see all of you during the last couple of months of being open!

Warm regards,
The ladies of the Boat-
Faythe Levine & Kim Kisiolek

Join us for our last show ever!

Congratulations on running it for four years. That is an awesome accomplishment. Now I need to try to get up to see it before you close. Best, best wishes.

So sorry to hear it! Paper Boat was one of the reasons to come up to Milwaukee. It will be missed by many. Best of luck to you both! I'm sure you've got plenty of great projects on the horizon.

Hi Faythe and Kim,

Sorry to hear the bad news. I picked up a copy of the Handmade Nation book at the Harry Schwartz near my house before their collapse. Bought a couple Atomic Records t-shirts about a week later ... I feel like this is the dawn of a lame new world. But thats another issue entirely.

I'm looking forward to Micaela's show - she's been probably my favorite artist around for years! Check it out, everybody.

I blame myself. For the entire global economic collapse. I'm not entirely kidding ...

I am SOO sorry to hear that!!! :( -- I'm from Madison and regularly make trips to your little space... It has always been such a fun place to check out wares of my favorite bloggers (and local artists) and also gallery shows (!!!) of many of these artists. Your store has just been so unique and will be SO incredibly missed. I'm sobbing. Best wishes for future projects!!

XOXO

What a loss to the Milwaukee community. I'm so sorry to hear of such an original store/concept falling to the present economic woes.

Ladies, thank you for Paper Boat. I will truly miss it, though my wallet will not. I wish you the best and I know you'll both remain an integral part of the Milwaukee community. Can't wait to see what you do next.
